Mattitos, Dallas, TX

Welcome bench at Mattitos Mexican restaurant in Dallas, TX.
Hmmm.... I've attempted to try and find out whom this may be but to no avail. This picture hangs at Mattitos in Dallas and catches your eye as you walk in. I'm not exactly a Mexican food connoisseur but I did enjoy the atmosphere and the colors colors colors.

My favorite model

My favorite model and I finally - finally were able to go on a Fall photo shoot. Where else do I drag her but Kings Gap on the top of the mountain. I do believe it's one of my top 10 favorite locations! Sure there 'one particular harbor' so far away and then there's the big ole oceans on both sides of the country that are spectacular. In between I've been to some beautiful spots but home sweet home and quite accessible is King's Gap. Add my daughter and what a combination!

Intoxicating....Reflecting

Pine Grove State Park
Oh not another Fall posting! It's been a hard year to get out there until today. Of course as my schedule goes today was full. We ventured out yesterday with a few rain showers but there was still no hiding all those colors.

Mount Holly Springs, PA Library Tour

Today and tomorrow enjoy a tour of the Mount Holly Springs, PA Library or better known as The Amelia Given Library. For years I've enjoyed visiting the library and taking my children to the many programs provided. When you enter the library there's so many details that cannot be ignored. You think you've just entered a museum. The woodwork is so astounding in every room and makes you want to sit down with a good book for hours. The wood work is called moorish fretwork done by Moses Ransom from Cleveland, OH. The library was built in 1890 and the architect was James Steen from Pittsburgh, PA. If you get the opportunity it's worth a visit! Return tomorrow for more interesting pictures......... The Computer room.

Time

For everything there is a season,
And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Cleversburg United Methodist Church, Shippensburg, PA

My Church. God has blessed us through the years (150 ++). Sure we have our ups and downs and who doesn't but through it all God has been there. I've heard someone once say 'I'm not going to this or that church because it's full of sinners'. Well personally the whole world is full of sinners -- and God is the only one to help us. It's a little country church but it has a soft spot in my heart. If you don't have a church you are more than welcome to join us for Sunday School at 9:15 and Church at 10:30 every Sunday morning. If you live too far away find a church where you can feel God's love. Being part of a community is uplifting when you're out there in the world facing the highs and lows in all our lives. God Bless You!

Riches are not from abundance of worldly goods, but from a contented mind.

What do I do while waiting for hockey practice to be over or for softball warmups? What do I do while waiting for piano lessons to end? And what about waiting for the pasta parties to be over or the saying goodbye to friends that we'll see in another hour? I look for things to make me smile. Today's picture brought cheer during one of my many waiting periods. There doesn't seem to be enough time to drive home and wait for the pick ups to begin so I wander on this trail or that trail and look for God's creation or find a bench and read a chapter or two. I try to always have reading material or my camera. Granted not much gets done at my house but I know too well these waiting times will end in a few years and I'll wish for them all back again. So till then I'll keep looking for things that make my day and maybe I'll even learn a few things by cracking those books!

What Hotties!

I can't believe another hockey season is almost over. I found these beauties hanging out in the goal. Just being around these young ladies makes me smile. What warm and charming girls!

1909 or 2009

A local watering hole for years is undergoing some rennovations. I love the simplicity that has been found. The porch had been put back to it's origins. I hope they succeed in bringing this place back to life again.

Pennsylvania State Capitol Sculptures

Unbroken Law
Love and Labor

These two sculptures at the Pennsylvania State Capitol building make you say hmmmm.... They were put into place in 1910 and as anyone could guess caused a stir over the nudity. Click 'here' to read more about the sculptures.

Morning Stroll

I found a new path this morning. Strolling through and around a baseball field, softball field, soccer fields, lacrosse field, hockey field and a community garden I found this quaint oasis. I thought it deserves some TLC in after processing today. It was a perfect morning with perfect weather. What a pleasant way to begin the day.
