Kempton, Pennyslvania ~ Kempton - Wanamaker Railroad

Have you ever wanted to travel the world?
I'm sure a lot of us have dreamed that dream at one time or another.
BUT!
Don't forget to check out all the wonderful places close to home.
People from around the world want to come see what's near you!
This is the old train station in Kempton, PA.  It travels back and forth to Wanamaker, PA.
It's a great afternoon trip in Berks County!

A locomotive to be reckoned with!
The red make it appear a lot faster!

Train travel at one time had an air of elegance.

I miss the caboose on the back of a train.

A caboose from the Reading railroad.
Directly from the Monopoly board!

The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center ~ Kutztown, PA

I recently visited The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center in Kutztown, PA.
I came across a young Amish boy who was learning to whittle.
He had many animals for sale but these two stood out to my eye.
When I was young our older neighbor taught himself to whittle after years of farming.
He made my brothers and sister necklaces and he also made these roosters.
It brought back some fond memories.

New Brunswick, Canada

It was time to say good bye to Canada, but not before we encountered this
little guy getting ready for the upcoming Winter.

Canada is a land of beauty around every bend in the road.
I hope to return soon for another great adventure!

What else is going on around the world?

Hopewell Rocks, New Brunkwick ~ Demoiselle Beach

Along the path to Demoiselle Beach.  You can begin to see the salt flats.

The salt flats looked so desolate and other worldly.
I must return to see this area filled with ocean water to get a whole other perspective.

The mud was the kind that if you attempted to walk through it you'd lose your shoes!

Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick

Many call these rocks,
the flower pot rocks.

Erosion art!

Wouldn't it be fun to glide through here in a kayak when the tide is in?

It's a little eerie to walk under the natural arch.

Can you see the teddy bear rock?

Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick ~ The Ocean floor!

Walking down on the ocean floor left you feeling like you were in another land.

Water is an artist.
Not all artists are people!

The Ocean Floor!
Just a few hours prior to this picture there was over 30 feet of water
on top of this floor.
Pressure!?

Doesn't it feel like a troll is about to make an appearance?

Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick, Canada

This was the first time I trekked down to the rocks.  You can see the water lapping
onto the muddy shoreline.  The tide was on its way out and the fog was hovering
all across the Bay of Fundy.

This was the second time I made the trek about an hour later than the picture above.
The tide had moved out further.

Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick

On the path way to find Hopewell Rocks at The Bay of Funday,
you pass through Fern Gully!

Before you get to all the rocks you get a sneak peek.
We were arriving when the tide was on its way out, but you can see the marks
on the rocks where the tide was!

The Bay of Funday's claim to fame?
The highest tides in the world!

Just following the path to Hopewell Rocks, is an adventure
in itself!
I loved the way this picture was a little out of focus in the
tree tops.  It gave you a sense of a fairytale.

Halifax, Nova Scotia ~ Curious sights

The afternoon we were allotted to spend in Halifax was rainy and drizzly and bluh
as far as the weather was concerned.
But....
The next morning as we were heading out of town just after breakfast the clouds were
breaking up and the sun was on its way out to shine.
I got the opportunity to snap this surreal shot displaying Halifax
with its terrific mixture of great old buildings and state of the art new buildings.

The Halifax wave also doubled as an umbrealla.

A memorial to a Portuguese explorer named Joao Alvares Fagundes.
He landed in Halifax in 1520.

Halifax, Nova Scotia Old and New along the waterfront

Walking along this street you were taken back in time.....

The old and new were combined to make some fine shopping areas.

A great place for a stroll.

The public humiliation spot?

Around every corner you can find a glimpse of the harbor.

Halifax, Nova Scotia Boats - Ships - Ferrys

The Navy gray blended in with the water and the colorless skies.

Well equipped with technology!

Nostalgic.

Beautiful Wood throughout!

Who knows what all the ropes are for?!

Ready to set sail in the high seas!

Ferry from one end to the other in the Halifax harbor.
