Pine Grove Furnace Fest

Pine Grove Furnace and State Parks in Newville, PA is a favorite spot to get out in nature.
How lucky was I to come across this beautiful sight while taking a leisurely walk with the dog?!
It was a SOOC! (straight out of the camera) or rather a SOOP! (straight out of the phone!
All these pictures today are straight out of my phone.
There weren't many flowers left this time of year but because of the exceptionally
warmer weather a few blooms were left for the butterfly and bee to enjoy a little pollen!

The friends of Pine Grove Furnace host a festival every year.
One of the highlights is the pumpkin carving and pumpkin walk to Fuller Lake.
The pumpkins are put on a make shift barge so to speak while lit then pushed to the
center of the lake.
The small beach was crammed to capacity while we listened to the legend of the
Hairy Hand!
The lake was saved from the hairy hand again this year!
You haven't heard about the legend involving Finley McDougal?
You need to attend next year to see if the lake can be saved for another year!
~~~
In the daylight the pumpkins didn't seem as scary as being lit in the dark.
It actually adds to the natural Fall colors surrounding them!
Every season at Fuller Lake provides relaxation and great scenery.
This was mid Summer when the beach had sunbathers and a few swimmers.
Are you a hiker?
The park offers the midway point on the Appalachian Trail that runs from Maine to Georgia.
Are you a fisherman?
You can fish during every season!  Dig a whole in the ice and keep fishing in the Winter
Mt. Washington Hotel ~ Bretton Woods
My first thoughts on viewing the Mt. Washington Hotel?
~That porch is my destination!~
Before you enter the premises of Mt. Washington you're in awe by the building itself let alone the astounding mountains surrounding the area.
That Porch!
Sit back and relax with your favorite hot or cold beverage.
The scenery can mesmerize you for hours.
The ever changing clouds on top, below and through the mountains changes the view continually.
Even the back of the hotel offers awe filled moments!
Lost River Gorge, New Hampshire
Through the pines on the trail at Lost River Gorge you can peer out to the New Hampshire mountains that roll in every direction possible!
My turn to squeeze through the boulders!
Sometimes you go up - up - up and then sometimes you go waaaaay down!
If you choose you can do some sperlunking!
The boulders have markings to give you directions to go in one end and crawl, squeeze, or whatever it takes to come out the other end!
Vermont by-ways
Although tucked away in a little holler the ole barn and silo was being framed by brilliant color!
The bicycle barn?
Not sure of the reason for the yellow bicycle but between it and the unreal colors it catches your attention!
Who can resist a little white Church.
I pray that these small beautiful Churches thrive!
Another barn being highlighted by the Vermont colors!
Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves
Everywhere you look New Hampshire granite is laying around looking beautiful!
A fantastic way to spend a Fall afternoon.
Romantic too!
The boardwalks winds through the forest going up - down- around - and even inside!
If you're tired there's a couple of seats along the way!
The boardwalks take advantage of the sturdy granite boulders.
The waterfalls along the way offer a peaceful hike.
Stowe, VT
Iconic Vermont Fall
This blessed little Church in Stowe, VT is one of the many Churches that get snapped over and over again in the Fall season.  I wonder why?  Just look at the color!
