Good Friday

John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Stowe, VT

Iconic Vermont Fall
This blessed little Church in Stowe, VT is one of the many Churches that get snapped over and over again in the Fall season.  I wonder why?  Just look at the color!

Donegal Presbyterian Church in the Spring

The Witness tree once stood here.
A testament to the passage of time.

An acknowledgement to their past.

The Cameron Estate Inn and Restaurant sit behind the Donegal Presbyterian Church.
It's a beautiful old home offering great meals and a place to stat the night.

Spring time quackery!

Nothing says Spring like a daffodil!

Donegal Presbyterian Church, Mount Joy, PA

On a beautiful Spring day we passed by this lovely Church.
Donegal Presbyterian Church
This is the new addition that overlooks some beautiful views.

What a quiet and peaceful place to reflect.

Although this building was built around 1740 the Church itself
started in the early 1720s.
Settlers from Northern Ireland decided to make this their place of Worship.

Tiny Church - Our Lady of the Pines

In the village of Small Run, WV stands
The Smallest Church in 48 States.
I'm in favor of small Churches and the close knit ties and this Church would surely deliver!

Seating for 12.
As you entered you felt you were in the presence of God.

Friends and Relatives.
The basis for all life.

Christ and his disciples.

See what's going on in the rest of the world:

Hogestown Church

A wooden steeple faces decay.
What tragedy to let outdated buildings go into disrepair.
They all have a story but not a good ending to it.

When an old building is converted into something new I say Cheers!
Hopefully someone comes along and saves this gem.

The Hogestown Presbyterian Church.
It sits between two roads and was quite accessible to all in the past.

I'm surprised that the wooded steeple is still in place.
Do you think a bell once foretold of the coming Church service?
What  else is going on around the world?

Fleetwood Church - Brandy Station, VA

Listen carefully...

Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,
  1. Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;
Waiting for the harvest, and the time of reaping,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

    • Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
      We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves;
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.

So many churches are now in a neglected way.  The small church struggles.
Bigger is better.  I'm just not sure what's better except the bells and whistles of
softer seats, no worries of heating bills, higher paid entertainment.
But why are we to be there is the first place?
      Simplicity is out?
I don't think so but remember your local church this season and big or small
soft seats or hard enter in and listen to that still small voice waiting for you.
