Fall 2013 -- Came and Went
Now that all the color has gone but Winter isn't officially here,
I thought it was a good time (better late than never) to
post the good days of Fall 2013~
The 'pop' of red adds character all around!
My subject was to be the random round bales of hay, but the
John Deere couldn't be missed.
Wait!
Maybe the sky was really the subject....
Fall (or Winter, or Summer, or Spring) is never missed at King's Gap!
with is being so close to home, I make random trips up the mountain
just to experience the solitude and beauty.
The water tower is my all-time favorite!
On this day, the frogs in the pond were silenced.
See you next Summer!
Character and Charm
The Oak Leaf Hydrangea has become my new favorite plant!
Ahhhhhh,
Cumberland Valley, Pennsylvania
Home Sweet Home!

Gettysburg - 150 years later
Gettysburg
150 years later
Abe is still a popular guy around the town of Gettysburg.
Just when his speech writer was trying to get a good opening for his
upcoming speech
the paparazzi would not leave him alone.
From Culp's Hill Gettysburg is laid out below.
The hills and the mountains all provide some spectacular views.
Thankfully the air is much clearer than it was 150 years ago when
the fields were filled with many Americans fighting for freedom.
Many today battle to keep the memories alive for us all.
Sacred ground surrouning the entire town.
The new national museum still has an air of stillness when you
imagine all that happened in the name of freedom.

Bar Harbor - Blue - Green - and in between
It's like 'The Blue' washed in to meet up with the green and golds.
'The Blue' surrounded you to make you feel enveloped in a big hug.
'The Blue' made everything calm.
the water
the birds
the trees
The Blue Lagoon
became
The Green Lagoon
The rocks were filled with their own unique colors.
Golds, purples, yellows, whites, orange
and the list goes on and on.

Bar Harbor, Maine Color and History
Meet Me at Geddy's
A Bar Harbor favorite.
The bright pink, the lobster claws or the giant moose on the roof
all point to this location to grab a bite to eat.
I don't know the history but to me -- meet Geddy!
You feel that if you walk on by the doorway the lobster claws will
reach out and grab you!
This bird across Jack's Jewelry
was all hand carved.
Another store where you felt an animal would swoop down
and grab you into the premises.
Jack's Jewelry was established in 1887?
--at least the building was!
the tourmaline found in Jack's was a pretty sight!

Bar Harbor, Maine
The Fountain is a great meeting spot.
Make a wish and throw in some change.
My parent's story of this fountain when they visited Bar Harbor goes like this:
When is a store across the street my Dad noticed someone retrieving
change from the fountain. Would that be de-wishing?
He asked the store owner if that was normal
The store owner immediately was angry and ran from the store across the
street to the fountain while saying to my parents watch my store till I get back!
-Good thing the de-wisher wasn't in her store at that time!
Downtown Bar Harbor wasn't extremely busy when we were visiting (yeah), but
I'm sure in the middle of Summer parking and walking are hot topics!
Wind and Spirit
The quintessential fishing boat and its reflection.
The Tiger Shark
Is that the kind of fish they catch?
American Cruise Lines
American Glory
With only 27 state rooms to choose from it provides a cozy cruise for all.

Bar Harbor, Maine -- Beth Said Yes and Bar Harbor Inn
The Bar Harbor Inn at Sunset.
The sunset glow touched everything!
The Inn during the day.
Serenity
'Beth Said Yes'
I'm sure there's a story here, but I guess I won't be able to find out what it entailed.
Beth said, Yes; be a lobsterer!
Maybe a husband somewhere in Bar Harbor went into business for himself....?
