Lunch is a must!

For over a hundred years this is the place to have tea and popovers along with lobster stew!

The rest of the menu definitely calls you back for another visit!

When in Maine lobster is on the menu served just about anyway you'd like it!

Popovers!

They are airy but along with their butter and jam....mmmmmmMMM!

Of course Blueberry tea is a must in the middle of the afternoon!

Either start or end with a blueberry smoothy!

Relaxation in the Mountains!

Cadillac Mountain - Acadia National Park

At the top of Cadillac Mountain the rocks rule!

The Views are mesmerizing any time of day.

Find a rock for a seat and let your mind melt away!

An inlet with it's own nature bridge.

If you're looking for seclusion this is the place!

Looking down from the mountain you can find many places that would

be almost impossible to find by foot.

This is a secret fishing hole, but I'm not sure whose secret it is!!

What do the rocks say?

They may be silent but their colors speak volumes!

Every direction you turn brings an amazing view.

Looking out to sea and all the out laying islands.

Sure there were rocks and enough granite for thousands and thousands of 

kitchen countertops...but the trees!   The trees were ever green and ever growing!

At the top of Cadillac Mountain the moss runs wild upon the rocks.

'Slippery when wet!'

This is the top of the mountain!

It's hard to believe you're on an island standing at over 1500 feet.

It's also hard to believe this was called Mount Desert Island.

Desert?

This is one of the first places to view the sunrise in the United States.

Guess what went on my bucket list?

(must go back!)

On the way to Cadillac Mountain...

Over exaggerated details but worth it to show the natural walk way to this island.

When the tide goes out walk across for an island adventure but be sure and 

get back before the tide comes back in!

Climbing up the road to Cadillac Mountain the views along the way are

just as amazing as the top of the mountain!

You can find a trail anywhere you turn in Acadia National Park.

Hiking

Biking

Kayaking

Passing through some sturdy build bridges from long ago...

On any trail you choose be it by foot, bike or water the views continue to 

be breathtaking!

The trails by Jordan Pond offer up one Kodak moment after another.

The rocks runs deep and clear.

Serene. 

That's a good describing work for Jordan Pond.

Now I need a bicycle or a saddled up horse!

Get lost on the carriage roads and enjoy the outdoors.

Don't have a kayak or bicycle or horse?

Find a stump or side of a bridge to perch for awhile and be still.

As you enter the Jordan Pond House you admire the mountains and

flora around you but just through the doors looking out the back

you face an awwwww moment!

This is the awwwwwe moment!

When we arrived the mist was lifting and slowly the sun

was starting to peak through.

I could've spent the rest of the day and sunset right here but lunch would have to do.

Just a little flora to enjoy!

We arrived early enough in the day to enjoy the surroundings before 

enjoying lunch after the soft rain.  

The humpback mountain was the focal point to enjoy.

Or just the Jordan Pond Gate House built in 1931 by John D. Rockefeller Jr.....

Can you imagine living here with the purpose of making sure

vehicles didn't pass onto the carriage roads?

I'm sure there were other job duties but it's more alluring

saying you could live here and just be the gate keeper!

It's like an English tudor?

One of the gates that only open for the horse drawn carriages.

Bicyclists are also allowed on the trail but can go through the narrower gate.

A day in the life...

Listen closely for the water crashing and the birds chirping...

Sittin on the deck waiting for a sunrise or sunset...

Ahhhhh!

It's a long way down there!

Acadia National Park - Little Hunters Beach

No soft place to throw a beach towel down and relax.

But!

Relaxation can still occur just in a different way.

Many of the rocks or granite looked very much like my countertops in pieces.

The jaunt down to Little Hunters Beach is no smooth walk but 

still highly worth it!

The trickle of water is a constant sound wherever you

turn in Acadia.

Everywhere you turn the roads and bridges melt into the 

picturesque surroundings.

The tide was out but the sea floor was riddled with sea weed.

Lunch?  Dinner?

Sea Urchin?

Rock?

The rocks and water never ended.

Some may tire of the ever endless supply of both, but to many others

it's pure amazement!

Check out the cliffs along the ocean. 

The path is laid out for you!

A hiker's dream land!

From the shoreline you can spot the many lobster pot markers.

I wonder from which pot our dinner came?

A secluded little fishing hut with just enough room for a nap

and your fishing gear!

Can you find the proud stake of the fishing hut?

The American flag is there!
