Cruisin down the river on a Sunday afternoon... Oops it was Saturday but the song didn't fit. There were hundreds of rafters floating down the Shenadoah and Potamac Rivers. Our favorite floaters were the groups with a raft just for their cooler. What a way to spend a Summer day.
Hey up there! There brave climbers scaled the mountain. What a workout that would be. Just watching them made my knees hurt. Brave souls!

Great post! Love your shots! I love trains and their whistles, too. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

I remember going to Harpers Ferry as a kid. I love the bridge shot and the sound of train whistles, too.
ReplyDeleteLove train whistles, but you don't hear them much anymore. Also seagulls - means you're by the seaside.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
Three excellent photos of a beautiful country! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHarpers Ferry and West Virginia---as they say it is wild and wonderful. I love train whistles too. I like the calls of the birds in the spring and early summer when they are mating. I like the sound of the oven buzzer when the food is done. I love the sound of a new baby making noises in their sleep. I love the sound of rain in the desert. Well, I guess you inspired me to think of sounds and I got a little crazy. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking me to Harper's Ferry, have never been before.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of the wind in the Aspen and the ever changing babble of a creek.
Thanks for reminding us to listen.
I empathize with the train whistle, it is such alonesome yet promising sound. Great tunnel.... I stil remember getting coal dust in my eyes, especially going into the tunnel. Nice post.
