Happy Birthday to a young lady whom I think is just awesome! (did I use correct English?) Miss Katrina Hocker!!! She's 14 today. She is beautiful on the outside but on the inside I think she has a heart of gold. I wish her all the best for a great life!!!

Yeah I'm a cloud watcher. I enjoy going out on the front porch when a storm is brewing and watching the cloud formations. Recently there has been many opportunities to do this. With the rain and storms we have been blessed to have the green green grasses of home. But then there's the worry when will I ever get the grass mowed!

My boy of Summer

Missing my son way down in Texas from up here in Pennsylvania. He's living in McKinney, TX with a host family and playing for the McKinney Marshalls. They are part of the Texas Collegiate Baseball league. I'm so proud that he is confident enough to head out on his own to places unknown and make the most of any situation. Sure I wish him well in his baseball endeavors but as just a Mom I want him to be happy and just love the day he's in and to find the blessings of every moment.

Open the Door!

Just a door I found interesting. Many events that pertain to the arts are held in the building. It's one of those things that go unnoticed for the most part because they are usually open and everyone is anxious just to get to their seats.

Watch out Batters!

My little girl out there on the mound taking control. Never did I think she would want to take on this responsibility but she seems to love it. Nothing seems to phase her too much. Some days are better than others but after a game you never can tell if they won or lost but you do know that it was a fun time.

Happy 15th!

Another birthday celebration! Happy Day to Monica a beautiful 15 year old with a charming smile and glowing eyes. She's an active one with field hockey and lacrosse and hordes of friends. She's growing up right before my eyes into a great young lady. All the best Mon!!!

Just another day..

Need some nails? This top notch blacksmith can whip you up a batch in no time at all. My indian friend was more than willing to demonstrate his way of life for us. These are just a few of the characters we met at the 2009 Armed Forces Day at the Carlisle Barracks Army Heritage trail. It was education without cracking a book. We learned about how our Armed Forces lived throughout our countries time as a nation. We went from the Revolutionary War, Spanish/American War, Civil War, World War I and II, Vietnam and through today. Each year it gets a little larger and I remember all those facts I learned years ago in a text book but now are forged into my head in a whole different manner. Thanks to all those volunteer re-enactors who do a fabulous job!
